we had a long trip from malate to marikina. while on the coaster, what else should we do but pray the rosary and take a nap. the time i woke up, we are already near our destination. we didn't pass by mcdo (which is part of our daily routine). finally we arrived in the beautiful office of marikina where the operation would be held. my first sight? veeerrry long line of little boys wearing different looks on their faces- nervous, excited, anxious, happy, wala-lang, maiihi-na-ko, aalis-na-ko,mommy!, bat-kayo-nandito, ano-tinitingin-tingin-mo?, atbp.
i belonged to the first batch so i am one of the lucky ones who will face the freaking little penises of the little boys. time to go up... I AM SOOO NERVOUS! no more excitement in me. pure sensation of nervousness. hahaha! at dahil ako ay isang mapalad na bata, ako ang unang hinatak ng clinical instructor namin. feeling? NAUSEA AND VOMITING man! i was assigned to assist so the doctor just tells me "sponge!" ako naman todo sponge. there was this boy who was crying his heart out. awww... i feel empathy. siguro kung ako din yung andon magsisigaw din ako ng MOMMMYYYYY. hahaha!
eventually, i got used to the look of a penis being skinned off. the day went on. guessed how many lucky boys were granted the blessing to be circumcised? 200! it was ssooooo tiring but a true learning experience.
all ended well. we had our first minor operation case. CHEERS TO US! and CHEERS TO ALL THE BOYS WHO SURVIVED THE OPERATION! they are all men now. awww... the day was a blast! and guess what? our service arrived really early... oooohhh this is the best day of our marikina rotation. KUDOS!
